GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The iconic college football pregame show, ESPN’s College Gameday, is headed to Baton Rouge for the Week 1 matchup between the Clemson Tigers and LSU Tigers on Sept. 5th, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.
In addition to being a marquee matchup between programs that have a combined seven college football national championships, it will also be the LSU debut for their new high-profile head coach Lane Kiffin.
The last time a Clemson football game was featured on ESPN’s flagship show was hosting NC State in October 2022 when the Tigers won 30-20.
This year’s game will be a rematch of last season’s opener in Clemson’s Death Valley in which then No. 9 LSU beat then No. 4 Clemson 17-10 before both teams finished with disappointing 7-6 records.
The Palmetto Sports team will be on-site covering the game and will provide more details about the massive opening-game matchup, including the exact kickoff time, as they become available.
