Rumors regarding the Philadelphia Eagles potentially trading AJ Brown to the New England Patriots continue to run rampant this offseason. While nothing is set in stone just yet, wide receiver Romeo Doubs revealed how much he wants Brown to be his teammate in New England.

While talking with media members on Tuesday, Doubs opened up about how much respect he has for Brown, according to Carlos A. Lopez of Sleeper. The Patriots’ newly acquired wideout knows Brown’s history with head coach Mike Vrabel, and ultimately believes adding the seven-year veteran to the roster would be a difference-maker.
“I have a ton of respect for him,” said Doubs about Brown. “Coach Vrabel was his coach [with the Tennessee Titans]… I understand it’s a lot of rumors going around. If he’s here, I’d love to have him here, and if he isn’t here, I’m still gonna wish him the best.”
Former Titans teammate and current Patriots safety Kevin Byard also opened up about AJ Brown potentially being traded to New England. Byard remembers his time with Brown fondly and seemingly hopes to be his teammate once again.

AJ Brown, who is 28 years old, played with Vrabel as his head coach in Tennessee for the first three years of his NFL career before being traded to the Eagles during the 2022 NFL Draft. However, after four seasons in Philly, Brown has been one of the main culprits with the drama surrounding the organization for his on-field antics and off-field comments.
Despite that, Brown still had a solid outing last season, finishing with 78 receptions for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns. If the Patriots pull off a trade for AJ Brown, which many insiders believe will happen at some point in June, he would become the club’s new No. 1 option with Romeo Doubs as his teammate.
Doubs joined New England as a free agent this offseason after signing a four-year, $68 million contract with the club. He is deemed the No. 1 option for now, but if Brown is traded to the Patriots, then Doubs would become the No. 2 option for quarterback Drake Maye.
