College football season is still a few months away, but Texas fans now have a spectacle to look forward to.

ESPN announced on Tuesday that College GameDay will visit  Austin in Week 2, when the Longhorns face Ohio State at Darrell K Royal – Texas Memorial Stadium on Saturday, September 12. The game will be televised on ABC at 6:30 p.m. CT.

When the two teams played Week 1 last year in Columbus, GameDay was onsite for the rematch of their 2025 College Football Playoff semifinal. The trip was also significant because it was Lee Corso’s final appearance on the show, with the legendary broadcaster donning Brutus Buckeye as his final headgear pick. The Buckeyes won the game 14-7.

Texas will be looking for some revenge in this year’s matchup, which could end up having significant CFP ramifications. The last time College GameDay was in Austin was 2024, when then No. 1 Texas hosted No. 5 Georgia. The Bulldogs prevailed in that game 30–15.

The Longhorns and Buckeyes could be set for another Top 5 showdown this year. In ESPN’s recent “Way-Too-Early” Top 25, Ohio State is the preseason No. 1 , while Texas is ranked No. 5
