The 2026 NFL Draft is in the rearview mirror. Now, it’s all about the 2026 NFL schedule. The NFL revealed last week that the 2026 schedule would be officially released this Thursday, May 14.
Last year, the Washington Commanders were coming off a 12-5 season and reached the NFC Championship Game for the first time in 33 years. So, with a young superstar at quarterback in Jayden Daniels, it was apparent that the Commanders would be heavily featured in prime-time games. That was true, as Washington had five prime-time games and eight standalone games, including on Christmas Day.
Unfortunately, the Commanders were crushed by injuries and finished 5-12. How many times will Washington be featured in 2026? We shall see. All week, we’ve begun to see specific NFL games leaked, including the season opener and most of the international games. The Commanders will play in London in 2026 as the home team. Who will it be against? And when?
We will track all the latest rumors, leaks and confirmed games for the Commanders’ 2026 schedule over the next couple of days until the full schedule is revealed on Thursday evening. We will also include games that could impact Washington.
Week 10 Thursday Night Football
Another NFC East date potentially revealed: the Commanders go on the road in Week 10 to face the New York Giants.
Expert NFL picks: Exclusive betting insights only at USA TODAY. Week 8 vs. Eagles
The Commanders to host the Eagles on Sunday Night Football? Two years ago, this looked like the future of the NFC between these two teams. It makes sense that at least one game will be in prime time.
Full slate of NFL’s international games
The NFL will have nine international games in 2026. Three of the four NFC East teams will play, with the Giants being the only divisional team not traveling overseas.
It’s official: Commanders vs. Colts in London in Week 4
The Commanders will be the home team vs. the Indianapolis Colts in Week 4 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
Commanders will not face Cowboys or Giants in Week 1
The Commanders opened last season at home against the New York Giants. Not in 2026, as the Giants will face the Dallas Cowboys.
No Thanksgiving Day game in Dallas
The Commanders could still have a Thanksgiving Day game, but it will not be in Dallas against the Cowboys. Dallas will host the Philadelphia Eagles. Washington will not play Detroit either, as the two teams do not meet next season. There is one more Thanksgiving Day game in prime time, which has yet to be revealed. The Giants and Washington have played in that spot before. Could that be a potential matchup? It seems doubtful, but we shall see.
Commanders vs. Colts in London?
It’s looking more and more like the Commanders will “host” the Indianapolis Colts at Tottenham Stadium in London on Sunday, Oct. 4, at 9:30 a.m. ET.
