Colorado teams have been some of the best in sports in the past few seasons, bringing home championships in both hockey and basketball within the last five years. Players, coaches and mascots alike from all sports all have a documented history of supporting each other by appearing at games.

On Wednesday night, Denver Broncos left tackle Garett Bolles hyped up the crowd at Ball Arena at the start of Game 5 between the NHL’s Colorado Avalanche and the Minnesota Wild. At the outset, there wasn’t much to cheer about, as the Wild raced out to a 3-0 first period lead.

But then, the Avalanche did their best Broncos-Giants impression, clawing their way back from a 3-1 deficit with less than four minutes left to tying the game with 1:23 left in the third period. The Avalanche grabbed hold of the momentum, scoring the winning goal in overtime, winning their best-of-seven series four games to one.

The Avalanche move on to the Western Conference Finals, against either the Anaheim Ducks or the Las Vegas Golden Knights. You can watch highlights of the incredible comeback here.

Now the Broncos hope to put their own championship aspirations to the test in 2026, joining the likes of their ice-bound brethren as title favorites in the NFL.
