Saints fans hopeful for upcoming season after schedule release

  • May 15, 2026

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – The New Orleans Saints are preparing for their 60th season of football in 2026-27, with Who Dats across the city feeling the excitement months ahead of the season opener.

“If you were born in the city, you’re going to be a fan,” New Orleans native Shane Petty said.

The team is not just celebrating six decades in the city. It will also have a prime-time game this year after missing out on any signature slots last season.

The Saints will host the Atlanta Falcons for the Week 4 “Monday Night Football” game, which also will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Saints-Falcons game that officially reopened the Superdome after Hurricane Katrina.

“It’s a huge rivalry. It’s a good game as long as they win,” Saints fan Ray Cornelius said.

Who Dat fan Eric Jones hopes there will be a big celebration both inside and outside the stadium so as many people as possible can enjoy the day.

“It’s going to be packed. We ought to do a parade to celebrate that,” Jones said.

Another milestone the Saints hope to commemorate is 21 straight years of sold-out season tickets. The streak started in 2006, when quarterback Drew Brees joined the team.

Among the tens of thousands of fans is Kyle Christiansen.

“Oh yea, I’m a season ticket holder. I’ll be in the dome rocking man,” he said.

Christiansen has been a fan since the season-ticket-holder streak started, and with quarterback Tyler Shough leading the team this year, he says now is the time to lock in a ticket plan.

“Get in the dome man. Get in there. Now is the chance. You’re not going to have a chance in a couple of years,” he said.

The New Orleans Saints have season tickets available for the upcoming season. For more information about packages and prices, contact the team directly.
