The Minnesota Vikings continue searching for their next general manager, but one respected NFL executive has officially removed himself from consideration. According to Albert Breer, Chad Alexander respectfully declined Minnesota’s request to interview for the Vikings’ general manager opening and withdrew his name from the process.
Breer reported that Alexander is comfortable with his current situation alongside the Los Angeles Chargers and wanted to remain focused on helping build the organization’s 2026 roster. Alexander has quietly become one of the NFL’s most respected personnel executives during his time in Los Angeles. Around league circles, he is viewed as a strong evaluator with deep scouting connections and extensive roster-construction experience.

His withdrawal represents a notable development for Minnesota, which has aggressively expanded its search following the departure of former general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah.
The Vikings recently requested interviews with several prominent executives across the NFL, including:
RJ Gillen of the San Francisco 49ers
John McKay of the Los Angeles Rams
Minnesota also continues considering internal executive Rob Brzezinski, who has long been one of the franchise’s key front-office figures.
