The Falcons moved on to the Finals of the NFL Girls Flag Football League with a convincing 20-0 shutout over the Jaguars.

The Falcons jumped out to an early lead in the contest played at Pachella Field as Willa Martin broke free on their first play from scrimmage with a 60 yard sprint to the end zone.

Teammate Dawsyn Ball added the two point conversion.

The Jaguars had some nice plays on offense, but could not sustain drives after crossing midfield.

The Falcons capitalized on good field position as they took a 14-0 lead into halftime as Izzy Cohen connected with Willa Martin on a 10 yard TD pass.

Both defenses gave up big plays in the second half, but neither team was able to push the ball over the goal line.

The Jaguars chances for a comeback were extinguished when the Falcons Arianna Horton picked off an Avery Collins pass and pranced into the end zone to create a 20-0 bulge late in the game.

The Jaguars, under the leadership of Brandon Jones, were quite pleased to reach the semis in what was for most girls their first exposure to organized football.

They will only develop more skills and field awareness in seasons to come.

The Falcons, with Joe Ball at the helm, showed the benefit of experience, and with the talented group they have, could easily be crowned champs during the Finals on May 31.
