Not everyone loves the Detroit Lions‘ offseason moves.

In its breakdown of NFC teams’ offseasons, the Lions received a middling offseason grade from CBS. CBS gave the Lions a C grade for its offseason.

CBS listed offensive tackle Blake Miller, center Cade Mays, EDGE Derrick Moore, running back Isiah Pacheco and defensive back Roger McCreary among the Lions’ notable offseason additions. Conversely, CBS listed running back David Montgomery, linebacker Alex Anzalone, defensive tackle DJ Reader, cornerback Amik Robertson and offensive tackle Taylor Decker among the Lions’ notable departures.

Here’s what CBS wrote about the Lions’ offseason and why Detroit was assigned a C grade for its offseason:

Detroit’s offense felt like it was merely replacing departures rather than adding to a roster looking to rebound after missing the playoffs. The club shipped David Montgomery to the Texans and replaced him with Isiah Pacheco. It released starting offensive tackle Taylor Decker and used a first-round pick on Blake Miller. Those aren’t bad moves by any stretch, but I’m not sure they elevate the team either.

The addition of Derrick Moore in the second round of the draft should finally give the Lions a pass-rushing threat opposite Aidan Hutchinson, which is encouraging. The Lions made some decent moves, but none that left our jaws on the floor. – Tyler Sullivan, CBS

Interestingly, CBS really didn’t like much of anything that happened this offseason in the NFC North.

The Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings‘ offseasons earned C grades, too, while the Green Bay Packers carded a C-.

The best grades out of the NFC went to the Los Angeles Rams (A), New York Giants (A) and Dallas Cowboys (A-).
