The son of a former national champion Tennessee football quarterback has committed and signed with Lane Kiffin’s LSU program. Kaden Martin, 1998 Vols champion Tee Martin’s son, announced his decision on Instagram on Friday night.

Kaden Martin now joins his dad in Baton Rouge. Tee Martin was hired this offseason by Kiffin as an offensive analyst. This is Tee Martin’s second stint coaching alongside Kiffin. He was also hired by him at USC in 2012 as the Trojans’ wide receivers coach.

Kaden Martin is now at his fourth school. He began his career at Miami before transferring. He also played baseball for the Hurricanes, appearing in two games. He did not appear on the diamond at all after transferring to ETSU before returning to football with MTSU. It is believed that this will be his final year of eligibility.

Tee Martin played at Tennessee from 1996-99. After sitting behind Peyton Manning, he took over in 1998 and led the program to a BCS National Championship win over Florida State. After his college career, he went in the fifth round of the 2000 NFL Draft to the Steelers. He hung up his cleats after the 2005 season to begin his coaching career.

Since 2021, Tee Martin has been on the Ravens’ staff in the NFL as a wide receiver coach, then a quarterback coach. This is Kiffin’s first year at LSU after taking the job following a successful stint at Ole Miss. Kiffin also coached at Tennessee for one season, 2009, before leaving in the night for USC.

Now, Kiffin, the 51-year-old LSU head coach, has already taken to social media in attempts to troll UT over the hiring of Tee Martin. He recently posted a video of Rocky Top playing over the speaker while panning to Tee Martin.
