GULFPORT, Miss. (WLOX) — The 2025 football season for the Gulfport Admirals was a wild ride that included a suffocating defense, a star workhorse back and an ending that seems out of a fairy tale.
While returning Admirals have their eyes set on defending the title, they took an evening to look back on last season’s historic run and finally get their hands on that coveted state championship ring.
“It is the first state championship down on the coast in a long time,” head coach Blake Pennock said. “I am just excited, they did it in the highest classification and with the battles and adversities they faced to get to where they got to. Then, to win it in a way that you will never forget is icing on the cake.”
Pennock spoke about the details going into the ring, with things like the team’s multiple mottos and the representation of their lower schools playing a role in the ring’s design.
The unveiling happened at the Admiral Championship Awards, where multiple awards were given out, including Play of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year and Clutch Performance of the Year.
