The Vega Ioane hype train probably didn’t need any extra fuel. Baltimore Ravens fans were already excited the moment the franchise invested the 14th overall selection in the massive offensive lineman. Still, all it took was one short practice clip circulating on social media to send excitement levels climbing even higher.

Sometimes, football fans don’t need much. A few seconds of movement is all it takes. One rep in practice can lead to reposts. One reminder of how physically overwhelming certain NFL players look compared to normal human beings sparks conversation.

Lamar Jackson throwing dimes all over the field is one thing. Ioane exploding out of his stance is certainly another. Maybe it’s too early to make this claim. Maybe it isn’t. Ioane shouldn’t have any issues with acclimating himself to the NFL game.

Vega Ioane already looks the part for the Ravens.

At 6-foot-4 and 320 pounds, Ioanedoesn’t look massive. He moves differently than players his size probably should. That’s part of what made him such an attractive draft prospect in the first place. Before arriving in Baltimore, Ioane built an impressive collegiate resume that included First-Team All-American honors in 2025, First-Team All-Big Ten recognition in 2025, and Second-Team All-Big Ten honors in 2024.

Now, Ravens fans are beginning to see why the organization believed he fit perfectly into Baltimore’s culture and identity. That brief practice clip making the rounds online may not reveal much in terms of schematic detail, but it absolutely reinforces one important thought.

Ioane looks like someone built to “Play Like a Raven.”

There’s power there. There’s athleticism there. Most importantly, there’s an edge to the way he moves that Ravens fans tend to appreciate immediately. He hasn’t played a meaningful NFL snap yet. OTAs are not training camp. Training camp is not the regular season. The real evaluation begins once pads come on, and veteran defensive linemen start testing him physically every day.

Still, the excitement surrounding Ioane feels understandable. The Ravens have long built successful teams around physical trench play, and finding cornerstone offensive linemen has historically been one of the organization’s strongest traits.

Early impressions obviously don’t guarantee long-term success, but first impressions matter too. Judging from one short clip alone, Ravens fans already seem convinced Baltimore may have found another good one.
