JACK SAWYER AT MANUP PITTSBURGH

Former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin was a longtime major presence at the ManUp Pittsburgh event, which is designed to focus on improving faith, fatherhood, and helping combat the impact of fatherless youth in the region. With Tomlin stepping down and focusing on his family after 19 years as head coach, ManUp needs a new Steelers representative.

That will be second-year OLB Jack Sawyer this year. Sawyer is set to appear at the June 6 event.

Tickets remain available for the event and can be registered for at manuppittsburgh.org.

Group-licensing income is generated from the name, imagine and likeness for the players, from Madden revenue, trading cards, apparel sales, and more.

Minnesota quarterback J.J. McCarthy earned $4 million in group-licensing income in 2024, a year in which he didn’t play a single snap due to a knee injury. Sanders started seven games for the Browns last season, going 3-4 while throwing for 1,400 yards, seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

JOHN RHYS PLUMLEE IN ACTION

Just over a month after the Pittsburgh Steelers released quarterback/wide receiver John Rhys Plumlee, he had a nice day with the UFL Houston Gamblers.

Plumlee, who signed with the Gamblers on May 2, helped lead Houston to a 26-13 win over the Birmingham Stallions, and he did some damage with his legs.

Plumlee completed just 11-of-23 passes for 119 yards and one interception, but he rushed for 77 rushing yards on 10 carries, including the touchdown above. As a team, the Gamblers rushed for 277 yards.
