Is Dak Prescott's Cowboys Supporting Cast 'Playoff-Worthy'? - NFL

Entering the 2026 season, most know that the offense will be the driving force for the Dallas Cowboys, as Brian Schottenheimer begins his second season.

Yes, the defense is expected to improve, and honestly, the bar for that improvement isn’t set too high.

But the offense is where the Cowboys will make their money.

Led by Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, Jake Ferguson, and Javonte Williams, those five will be the driving force behind what Cowboys Nation hopes will be a path towards at least a playoff berth.

As we know, those five can’t do it by themselves; they need help, and with the likes of Ryan Flournoy, Brevyn Spann-Ford, Jaydon Blue, Malik Davis, and Co., the Cowboys do have some depth for Dak to spread the ball around and be productive.

But when looking at Prescott’s weapons as we sit here today, is it enough for the offense to once again be a top offense? Is the supporting cast “playoff-worthy”?

Fox Sports’ Ralph Vacchiano has ranked every quarterback’s supporting cast, and when it comes to Dallas, he has Dak’s weapons at No. 2, behind only the Los Angeles Rams.

“Wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens have a chance to put up some scary numbers in this offense if they can both stay healthy,” Vacchiano wrote. “Both are explosive enough to be considered top 10 in the league. And Dallas has other weapons, too, such as tight end Jake Ferguson and deep threat KaVontae Turpin.

“What really vaults the Cowboys on this list, though, is their commitment to Javonte Williams and the running game. It also helps that Dak Prescott has a top-tier line protecting him. If left tackle Tyler Guyton and center Cooper Beebe can stay healthy, Dallas might have one of the best lines in the league.”

With Lamb and Pickens, that is enough for Dallas to be among the best in football. Then we add in Williams and Ferguson, coupled with what we think will be a more than serviceable offensive line, you can see why the Cowboys are ranked so high.

I would like to see the Turpin receiver experiment end. Instead, allow him to rediscover his threat as a returner, which ghosted him last season.

The offensive line needs to be better, and with another offseason for Tyler Guyton and Tyler Booker, those two should be vastly improved.

Flournoy showed promise last season, and Davis, in his limited snaps, produced well, filling in for Javonte. So, there is more than enough weaponry for Prescott to lead this team back to the postseason.

Do the Cowboys really have the second-best supporting cast in football? You can certainly make that case.
