When discussing the NFL’s elite wide receivers, the conversation often begins with names like Ja’Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson and Amon-Ra St. Brown. While reasonable arguments can be made for several players, there is a strong case that only Chase and Puka Nacua currently deserve to be ranked ahead of Detroit’s star receiver. What separates St. Brown from many of his peers is not just talent, but an unmatched level of consistency.

Since entering the league as a fourth-round pick in 2021, St. Brown has transformed from an overlooked prospect into one of football’s most productive offensive weapons. Every season of his career has shown growth, and over the last four years he has established himself as one of the NFL’s most reliable receivers. He has recorded at least 90 receptions in every season of his career and has surpassed 1,100 receiving yards in four consecutive seasons.

What makes St. Brown’s production even more impressive is how steady it has been. Some receivers have monster seasons followed by statistical drop-offs. That has not been the case for Detroit’s “Sun God.” In 2022, he posted 106 catches for 1,161 yards. He followed that with 119 receptions, 1,515 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2023. Then in 2024, he produced 115 catches, 1,263 yards and 12 touchdowns. In 2025, he once again eclipsed 100 receptions and 1,400 receiving yards while scoring 11 touchdowns.

The consistency is remarkable. Over the past three seasons alone, St. Brown has averaged nearly 117 receptions, 1,393 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns per year. Few receivers in NFL history have maintained that level of production over such a sustained period.

His accolades support the argument as well. St. Brown earned First-Team All-Pro honors in both 2023 and 2024, placing him among the very best players at his position. He has also become a regular Pro Bowl selection and has established himself as one of the faces of the Detroit Lions.

What often gets overlooked is how St. Brown wins. He is not the biggest receiver in the league, nor is he known for blazing speed. Instead, he dominates through elite route running, physicality, toughness and an incredible understanding of leverage and spacing. Jared Goff trusts him because he consistently gets open and rarely makes mistakes. Defensive coordinators know the ball is coming his way, yet they still struggle to stop him.

Perhaps the best argument for St. Brown being a top-three receiver is his reliability. Week after week, year after year, he delivers. Whether the Lions need a crucial third-down conversion, a red-zone touchdown or a game-changing drive late in the fourth quarter, St. Brown is almost always involved. His floor is higher than nearly every receiver in football.

Ja’Marr Chase deserves recognition as the league’s best receiver, and Puka Nacua has quickly emerged as one of the NFL’s most dynamic playmakers. After those two, however, it is difficult to find a receiver with a stronger combination of production, consistency, accolades and dependability than Amon-Ra St. Brown.

The numbers, the All-Pro selections and the week-to-week dominance all point to the same conclusion: Amon-Ra St. Brown is firmly a top-three wide receiver in the NFL today.
