Nebraska pitcher Jordy Frahm finished her final softball season with a performance that won her player of the year — while pregnant.

On Sunday, Frahm threw five no-hit innings against Texas until a three-run home run from Katie Stewart gave the Longhorns a 3-1 lead and eliminated the Cornhuskers. The next day, the senior announced on Instagram that she is expecting her first child in December with Nebraska pitcher Trey Frahm. The pair married in August 2025.

“Our greatest blessing is on the way,” she wrote on Monday. “Baby Frahm coming December 2026.”

Frahm won two NCAA championships with Oklahoma in 2022 and 2023 before taking a redshirt year because of injury and transferring to Nebraska, her home state, for her final two seasons.

Frahm finished her collegiate career with a 1.29 ERA and .842 slugging percentage. In the 2025-26 season, she went 21-6 as a pitcher while hitting .403, becoming the first Division I pitcher with multiple 20-home run and 20-win seasons.

“You taught me how to be strong, how to fight through failure, how to test myself mentally, physically, emotionally,” Frahm said in a letter to the sport of softball she posted on her Instagram after her final season ended. “At 23 years old in my fifth year of college, it’s hard to even put into words what you mean to me, passion, heartbreak, joy, exhaustion, growth and so much love.”

In late April, Frahm was listed as a provisional player by the Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL), giving her an opportunity to join the professional league’s reserve pool. She was considered a likely candidate for the league’s golden ticket, which would have given her the opportunity to sign a professional contract immediately, but she opted out of the 2026 AUSL  in mid-April, Sports Illustrated reported.
