The overseas showdown comes after a series of tough weeks for Jayden Daniels’ Washington Commanders. Before they fly over the Atlantic, they’ll take on the Eagles, Cowboys and defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks.
Indianapolis doesn’t have it much easier, either. Daniel Jones’ Indianapolis Colts will take on the Ravens, Chiefs and Texans in weeks one through three.
In short, both teams will likely be hungry for a win and giving their all.
To make sure they’re ready, Washington bolstered their roster over the offseason — after a depressing ’25 effort where the team went 5-12 — by inking star defensive end Odafe Oweh, role-filling running back Rachaad White, speedy linebacker Leo Chenal, sneaky cornerback Amik Robertson and tight end Chig Okonkwo.

They also drafted elite Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles with the seventh pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
As for the Colts, general manager Chris Ballard signed defensive end Arden Key, under-the-radar edge rusher Micheal Clemons, insurance safety Jonathan Owens, competitive linebacker Akeem Dacis-Gaither and experimental tight end Carson Towt (who played college basketball at Notre Dame but has no football experience).
This crop of newbies join the team’s nucleus of Jones, Jonathan Taylor, Sauce Gardner, Quenton Nelson, DeForest Buckner who started ’25 campaign 8-2 before losing their last seven games to close the year.
According to the Colts’ website, “this [game] will mark the Colts’ second game in London in franchise history. Previously, the Colts played the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium…in 2016.”
