New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara reports to voluntary workouts amid offseason questions
CAR TO CRASH INTO THE HOME LIKE THAT. TIME NOW IS 516 AND TIME TO GET ANOTHER CHECK FOR YOU OF YOUR WDSU FIRST WARNING WEATHER. ALL RIGHT, GOOD MORNING EVERYBODY. COUPLE THINGS TO TALK ABOUT FOR YOU. FIRST, LET’S TALK ABOUT THIS FLASH FLOOD THREAT FOR TODAY. SO ANY OF US COULD SEE SOME HEAVY DOWNPOURS THAT COULD LEAD TO SOME ISSUES. THAT’S THE FIRST THING. SECOND THING, COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY, IN EFFECT ALL THE WAY THROUGH FRIDAY. SO NOT A GREAT TIME TO BE OUT ON THE WATER AT ALL. SO THIS IS GOING TO BE FOR EAST FACING SHORES. SO BASICALLY ALL THE WAY FROM BAY SAINT LOUIS ALL THE WAY DOWN TO COCODRIE ALL THE WAY THROUGH FRIDAY. SO BASICALLY YOU’RE LOOKING AT 1 TO 2FT ABOVE FOR THAT DURING HIGH TIDE. NOT ONLY THAT THOUGH, GUSTS UP TO ABOUT 25MPH. SO HERE’S WHERE YOUR HIGH TIDES ARE. 1142 GRAND ISLE. AND YOU CAN SEE THAT IS FOR LATER ON FOR TODAY. SO WE’LL KEEP A CHECK ON THINGS FOR YOU. BUT JUST A HEADS UP OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS, PROBABLY NOT THE GREATEST TIME TO BE OUT THERE. HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENING SO FAR OUT THERE. NOT A WHOLE LOT. WE ARE LOOKING AT SOME STORMS. HOWEVER, THERE’S GOING TO BE DOWN NEAR GRAND ISLE. THEY’RE STARTING TO GROW A LITTLE BIT. SO PROBABLY SEEING THAT OFF INTO THE DISTANCE OR AT LEAST HEARING IT OFF INTO THE DISTANCE. AND THEN THAT RAIN LIKELY GOING TO HEAD OVER TOWARDS GOLDEN MEADOW. WHAT’S HAPPENING OVER THE REST OF THE MORNING? A LOT OF US WILL END UP STAYING DRY. WE COULD SEE A FEW OF THESE MOVE INLAND. BOOTHVILLE COULD SEE THAT LAFITTE AS WELL. AND THEN AS WE GET CLOSER TO ABOUT 1 P.M., THAT’S MORE OF US WILL START TO SEE THE SHOWERS. THUNDERSTORMS POP UP, A LOT OF LIGHTNING EXPECTED AS WELL. WE’VE SEEN THAT OVER THE PAST COUPLE OF DAYS. SO CAUTION IF YOU ARE OUTSIDE TODAY, ARE AT THE POOL. LET’S TALK ABOUT THE TROPICS. AS OF RIGHT NOW, THINGS ARE QUIET OVER THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS. HOWEVER, LOOKING OUT AT THE GULF, A LOT OF ACTIVITY STARTING TO HAPPEN FOR US. SO BASICALLY WHAT’S GOING TO GO ON IS WE’RE GOING TO SEE AN INCREASE IN RAIN CHANCES AS THIS TRIES TO MOVE UP TOWARDS THE NORTH. NOW GOT A LOT OF WIND SHEAR. SO THAT’S REALLY GOING TO BLOW THIS APART. AS FAR AS ANYTHING FORMING. SO NOT CONCERNED WITH THAT. HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENING ON THURSDAY. YOU SEE THIS SOME DRY AIR IN PLACE. SO WE COULD ACTUALLY BE A LITTLE DRIER FOR TOMORROW. BUT THEN LOOK WHAT HAPPENS AS WE GET TO FRIDAY. MORE THAT MOISTURE MOVES IN. SO INCREASING RAIN CHANCES FOR FRIDAY AND FOR OUR SATURDAY. AGAIN, NOT EXPECTING ANYTHING TO REALLY DEVELOP FROM THIS. JUST AN INCREASE IN RAIN. HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENING SO FAR. OUT THE DOOR. 70S FOR YOU. SO ANOTHER MILD START TO THE DAY AS FAR AS OUR HIGH TEMPERATURES GO, MAYBE A WELCOME RELIEF FOR YOU. LOOKING AT BEING INTO THE LOWER 80S FOR TODAY. SO WE’RE ABOUT 89 DEGREES. YESTERDAY WE ACTUALLY HIT 89 DEGREES. NOT GOING TO BE THE CASE AT ALL. SO JUST TO PUT THIS INTO PERSPECTIVE, AS FAR AS THE REST OF THE DAY GOES, THAT HEAT INDEX, WE’RE GOING TO BE VERY CLOSE TO WHAT THE ACTUAL TEMPERATURE IS. SO NOT TOO CONCERNED WITH THAT. HERE’S A LOOK AT THE REST OF THE WDSU FIRST WARNING SEVEN DAY FORECAST. ANOTHER IMPACT DAY FOR TOMORROW. COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT. AND THEN FOR YOUR FRIDAY. WE’RE ALSO LOOKING AT MORE HEAVY RAIN POSSIBLE FOR US. AGAIN, COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY WILL CONTINUE. AND THEN AS RAIN CHANCES DO GO DOWN NEXT WEEK, WE ARE TALKING

The New Orleans Saints are in week 2 of offseason workouts. Running back Alvin Kamara is in town and reported to practice on Wednesday, according to Saints’ head coach Kellen Moore.”Alvin got here today, so he’s here, so we’ll kind of work through an acclamation process there, just kind of getting to work with him,” said Moore. There have been many questions surrounding Kamara’s future in New Orleans.Kamara, who’ll be 31 next season and has spent all of his nine NFL seasons in New Orleans, remains under contract with the Saints. But the club’s plans for him have been in doubt since New Orleans signed free-agent running back Travis Etienne — a move giving them two running backs who are each scheduled to be paid in the range of $12 million in 2026. Struggling through a knee injury last season, Kamara posted career lows in games played (11), yards and touchdowns rushing with 471 and 1, and yards and touchdowns receiving (186 and 0).
