Russell Wilson is heading to television after 14 seasons in the NFL.

The 10-time Pro Bowl quarterback announced Wednesday that he is joining CBS Sports. Wilson will be an analyst on the network’s Sunday NFL pregame show, “The NFL Today,” the Associated Press reported on Monday.

Wilson then revealed the move on Wednesday in a three-minute video posted on social media, reflecting on his NFL career that included a Super Bowl championship, two NFC titles, and nearly 47,000 passing yards.

He will replace former NFL quarterback Matt Ryan, who recently left CBS Sports to become the Atlanta Falcons’ president of football operations, according to the report by the Associated Press.

On Monday, the source spoke on condition of anonymity because Wilson’s contract hadn’t been completed, according to the report.

Ryan was part of “The NFL Today” during the 2024 and 2025 seasons.

Wilson’s broadcasting move comes after a career that spanned 14 seasons with four franchises. He spent his first 10 seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, helping lead the franchise to its first Super Bowl title during the 2013 season and earning two NFC championships.

The Seahawks traded Wilson to the Denver Broncos in 2022, where he played for two seasons. He later spent the 2024 season with the Pittsburgh Steelers and played for the New York Giants last season.

Wilson told the New York Post last month that he was considering an offer to join the New York Jets as a backup to Geno Smith before ultimately deciding to move into broadcasting.

Over his NFL career, Wilson passed for 46,966 yards, 353 touchdowns, and 114 interceptions. His passing-yardage total ranks 16th all-time. He was also named the NFL’s Walter Payton Man of the Year in 2020.

James Brown, Bill Cowher, and Nate Burleson are expected to return to the “The NFL Today” desk alongside Wilson.
