TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride hosted his first youth football camp in Tucson, bringing together hundreds of young athletes for a day of drills and skill development.

The camp welcomed football players between the ages of six and 16. McBride worked alongside local coaches to lead the event, offering advice and interacting with participants as they moved through different stations.

Organizers say the camp was open to players of all experience levels. The event gave young athletes an opportunity to stay active, develop their skills and spend time on the field with a current NFL athlete.

For many families, the event provided a rare opportunity to see one of Arizona’s biggest football stars up close. McBride says he hopes to continue giving back to communities across the state.

“It’s kind of hard to catch games in Phoenix, so for him to come out here at the price of pretty much a game is pretty cool,” Jerry Mejia said.

“I think it’s a great place to be, a great community to give back to, to pour into. I would love to give back as much as I can,” McBride said.
