INGLEWOOD, Calif. — For the next several weeks, one of the NFL’s most recognizable venues will go by a different name.
SoFi Stadium, home of the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers, has officially been rebranded as “Los Angeles Stadium” for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The venue is set to host eight matches during the tournament, including the United States men’s national team’s opening game against Paraguay on Friday night.
The Inglewood stadium has undergone significant modifications to prepare for soccer’s biggest event, including adjustments to accommodate a FIFA-regulation pitch and the installation of a natural grass playing surface. The venue will welcome fans from around the world, as Los Angeles serves as one of the tournament’s key host cities.
Friday’s match between the United States and Paraguay is scheduled for a 6 p.m. kickoff and marks the beginning of the Americans’ World Cup journey on home soil. The stadium will also host four additional group-stage matches, two Round of 32 games and a quarterfinal.
