Former Rice corner Sean Fresch Jr. playing for St. Louis Battlehawks in UFL (UFL, KPRC 2)
HOUSTON – The Texans worked out St. Louis Battlehawks All-United Football League punt returner Sean Fresch Jr., per a league source.
Fresch, a former Rice standout who has 4.40 speed and a 41-inch vertical leap,led the UFL with 333 punt return yards and averaged 10.4 yards per punt return.
He recorded 29 tackles, 1 1/2 sacks and four passes defended.
Fresch participated in the Texans’ local prospect day last year before going undrafted and signing with the San Antonio Brahmas of the UFL.
The Austin native and former All-Conference USA freshman selection started 42 games for the Owls. He had 52 tackles, nine passes defensed and one interception as a senior. He also caught a 40-yard pass.
