The Pittsburgh Steelers hosted UFL EDGE Jah Joyner for a workout, according to analyst Michael Del Negro. Joyner himself confirmed the news, sharing the report on his Instagram story Thursday evening.

It’s unclear if the workout took place Thursday or is scheduled for Friday.
Joyner went undrafted in 2025 out of Minnesota, but signed with the Las Vegas Raiders. He didn’t sign immediately following the draft, but landed his first opportunity in early May before getting waived at the final roster cuts in August.
In January, Joyner was selected in the 2026 UFL Draft by the Dallas Renegades, but was waived in March. The Houston Gamblers claimed him, and he’s been there ever since. In 10 games with Houston, he had 28 total tackles, six TFL, a half sack, and a pass breakup.
In his final two years at Minnesota, Joyner had 50 total tackles, 13 TFL, 12 sacks, eight passes defensed, and four forced fumbles. He offered an intriguing profile coming out of college with a 6042, 262-pound frame with long 34-inch arms. Steelers college scout Jim Ward was in attendance at his Pro Day last year.
At the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine, Joyner ran an impressive 4.6-second 40-yard dash and jumped a 30-inch vertical.
Our full scouting report on Joyner noted his play strength and power rush capabilities, while dinging him for average burst and overall twitch to consistently win off the edge.
Pittsburgh has a full offseason roster, but it’s always a good idea to keep a rolodex of potential camp additions as injuries pile up. If they like him enough, he could potentially find a 90-man roster spot over Jamin Davis or KJ Henry at the back of the OLB depth chart right now.
Friday is the final day of OTAs before the Steelers break until training camp in late July, but there may be some minor roster shuffling between now and then. If Jah Joyner doesn’t get a spot right away, he could be a name to remember for later in the process.
