The heavy roster-building portion of the NFL offseason is behind us, but if Indianapolis Colts’ GM Chris Ballard is still looking to tweak his roster, who are the best available free agents still out there?

Matt Bowen of ESPN recently updated his list of the top 15 available players. From a salary cap standpoint, the Colts have more than enough room to make an addition.

Below is a positional breakdown of those players and whether the Colts have a need there.

What’s the need for the Colts? Adding more veteran depth wouldn’t be a bad thing at all along the offensive line. That said, my guess is that Ballard sticks with the current group.

Wide receiver free agents

What’s the need for the Colts? According to ESPN’s Stephen Holder, the Colts are “mulling” over an addition at wide receiver, with the WR3 role up for grabs, and the players competing for those snaps without a strong track record of steady production.

Defensive end free agentsJoey BosaCameron JordanJadeveon ClowneyHaason Reddick

What’s the need for the Colts? Pass rusher remains a big question mark, specifically who is going to start next to Laiatu Latu, and whether the Colts have enough juice at this position.

Tight end free agents

What’s the need for the Colts? There really isn’t much of one. The top three spots on the depth chart are well established.

Linebacker free agents

What’s the need for the Colts? Like the offensive line, adding another veteran presence to bolster competition could be a good thing. That said, I don’t think Ballard does that.

Defensive back free agentsCB Trevon DiggsS Donovan Wilson

What’s the need for the Colts? Depth-wise, safety and cornerback are two of the strongest position groups on the roster of the Colts.
