LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville Kings kicker Tanner Brown is headed back to the NFL.
The Kings announced Wednesday that Brown has signed with the New Orleans Saints after a record-breaking season that earned him UFL Special Teams Player of the Year honors and helped power Louisville to a league championship in its inaugural season.
Brown was one of the UFL’s most reliable weapons throughout the 2026 season. He set a league single-season record by making 25 of 28 field-goal attempts during the regular season and added four more makes in the playoffs. He finished the year 29-for-32 overall and was named to the All-UFL Team.
The former Oklahoma State standout led the UFL with 99 regular-season points. He connected on seven of nine field-goal attempts from 50 yards or longer in the regular season and converted a 60-yard four-point field goal under the league’s unique scoring rules.
Brown also delivered one of the most memorable performances of the postseason. In Louisville’s playoff victory over the St. Louis Battlehawks, he became the first kicker in professional football history to make two field goals of 60 yards or longer in the same game, connecting from 60 and 63 yards.
His leg played a major role in Louisville’s run to the United Bowl title, capping a season that established the Kings as one of the UFL’s success stories.
Before joining Louisville, Brown starred at Oklahoma State, where he made 39 of 44 field-goal attempts during his collegiate career. He later spent time with the Los Angeles Rams and Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent.
Brown joins wide receivers Lucky Jackson and Tarik Brown as the first Kings players to sign an NFL contract since the UFL’s offseason signing period opened Monday. Louisville retains his UFL rights should he return to the league in the future.
