ENGLEWOOD — The dad crew at Broncos Park is growing.

Last February, quarterback Bo Nix joined the proud fraternity when his wife, Izzy, gave birth to a baby girl named Riley. Nix is among a handful of Broncos teammates being celebrated on Father’s Day for the first time in 2026.

“She’s doing great. Her and her mom are both doing phenomenal. It’s a true blessing,” Nix said. “You hear a lot of talk, and you hear all the stories, but you don’t really fully understand it until you become a dad. I’m very honored and blessed to be one. I know there are a lot of new dads on our team, so we’re kind of going through similar seasons of life together.”

There are at least four recently new dads in the locker room: safety Brandon Jones, running back Jaleel McLaughlin, fullback Adam Prentice and Nix.

They have plenty of help from other fathers currently on the Broncos like offensive tackle Garett Bolles, running back J.K. Dobbins, safety Talanoa Hufanga, kicker Wil Lutz, offensive tackle Mike McGlinchey and quarterback Jarett Stidham.

Next up? Quarterback Sam Ehlinger and his wife, Cami Jo, announced in April on social media they’re expecting their first child in the fall.

“Well, you see them more tired,” coach Sean Payton joked. “It’s great to see. I think that we try to make a point to announce it to the group. … The wives (and) the husbands, it’s a good support group.”

The NFL grind can be especially challenging. Fatherhood offers life perspective. Just like back in late January when the Broncos lost in the AFC Championship Game. One player had a reason to celebrate not long after the crushing defeat.

“I had my daughter the day after, so I didn’t stew on it for very long,” McGlinchey said. “I was given a pretty happy gift the day after the season was over. She’s 4 months old now. So, we’re doing great. … I would say that dad is very much a support player. A role player the first time around. Then, all of the sudden when there’s no free set of hands, dad gets elevated to the starting lineup. It’s been fun.”

McGlinchey and his wife, Brooke, recently took their daughter, Rosie, to visit family members during a trip to the Jersey Shore.

“Those are the things that you cherish about this time of the year,” McGlinchey said. “It’s the biggest blessing in the world.”

Lutz is among the more experienced fathers on the roster. He has two young sons, Owen and Jack, with his wife Megan. Lutz said it has been “fun to share experiences” with “a good group of dads on this team.”

He offered advice that helped him become a better NFL father.

A gift for Father’s Day.

“You’re going to succeed and fail in this industry. I think one thing I’ve promised my family is that no matter what, when I come home, that is at the door,” Lutz told The Denver Gazette. “I think the last couple of years, I’ve really gotten good at that. No matter what happens, my 4-year-old and my 2-year-old are going to scream when I walk in. That’s such a cool feeling.”
