Is there a stronger punter on the planet?
Ethan Evans made a big leap in 2024, becoming one of the NFL’s best punters in just his second season as a pro. He’s looking to keep getting better in Year 3 with the Los Angeles Rams and if his gym workouts are any indication, his stock is on the rise.
Already known for his ridiculous lower-body strength, Evans took things up a notch in his latest lift. The Rams shared a video of the punter squatting 705 pounds during OTAs, which is just an unfathomable amount of weight to squat.
To put that into perspective, Alaric Jackson and Steve Avila are the Rams’ two heaviest players, and they weigh a combined 683 pounds. Evans is squatting more than that.
When Evans came into the NFL out of Wingate, the Rams were well aware of his power. He’s continued to get stronger, going from squatting 585 pounds to a whopping 705 this week.
Earlier this offseason, he deadlifted 800 pounds, up from the 770 pounds he was putting up in college. If there’s a limit to how much he can lift, he seemingly hasn’t reached it yet.
