San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk is at it again. On Father’s Day, Aiyuk continued his flirtation with the Washington Commanders, posting another video on his personal Instagram page.

What did Aiyuk say this time?

“Go Commanders. Go Commanders. Go Commanders. Raise Hail. Take Command.”

It’s the latest Instagram video from Aiyuk, where he clearly makes it known that his preferred place to play is Washington, where he’d reunite with quarterback Jayden Daniels. Aiyuk and Daniels were teammates at Arizona State in 2019 and remain close friends.

In addition to Sunday’s video, Aiyuk previously posted photos of himself in a Washington hat and another with a Commanders’ football. He’s also posted images, where he’s tagged the location as Virginia or Washington, D.C. The Commanders’ team headquarters is in Ashburn, Virginia.

It’s important to note that Aiyuk remains under contract with the 49ers. While San Francisco GM John Lynch has said Aiyuk has played his last down for the 49ers, he continues to hold onto him in the hopes of finding a trade partner. Essentially, Lynch wants Washington GM Adam Peters to send him a late-round draft pick for Aiyuk’s rights.

That’s not going to happen. Peters has stood his ground and will wait for Aiyuk’s eventual release. Ultimately, the 49ers realize no one is trading for Aiyuk’s contract because he hasn’t played since Oct. 2024. Also, everyone knows he wants to play in Washington. If someone did trade for Aiyuk, he’s under no obligation to work with them on revising his contract.

When will this end? Aiyuk could speed things up by reporting to San Francisco’s training camp next month, forcing them to make a decision.

Until then, we await more Instagram videos.
