Undrafted free agents don’t get the same recognition as players who are selected across the seven rounds of the draft, but each team typically has at least one undrafted rookie make its regular-season roster every year.
The Los Angeles Rams signed 17 undrafted free agents following the 2025 draft and while it’ll be a tough roster for rookies to crack, they shouldn’t be overlooked. Just last year, Jaylen McCollough and Omar Speights became key contributors on defense.
So who are the undrafted rookies to watch for this year? The amount of guaranteed money the Rams gave each player could be an indication of how badly the team wanted to sign them. Here’s how much of each UDFA’s contract was guaranteed, according to Over The Cap.
OL Willie Lampkin, North Carolina: $30,000LB Shaun Dolac, Buffalo: $25,000OL Trey Wedig, Indiana: $20,000TE Mark Redman, Louisville: $20,000S Nate Valcarcel, Northern Illinois: $15,000S Malik Dixon-Williams, UConn: $10,000TE Anthony Torres, Toledo: $10,000OLB Josh Pearcy, Rice: $10,000DL Da’Jon Terry, Oklahoma: $8,000WR Mario Williams, Tulane: $8,000RB Jordan Waters, NC State: $7,000OL Wyatt Bowles, Utah State: $6,000OL Ben Dooley, Boise State: $6,000WR Tru Edwards, Louisiana: $5,000OLB Jamil Muhammad, USC: $5,000WR Brennan Presley, Oklahoma State: $4,000DL Bill Norton, Texas: $3,000
Compared to other teams, these amounts are minimal. For example, the Panthers gave seven players are least $130,000 guaranteed, with Jared Harrison-Hunte getting $285,000 guaranteed from Carolina.
Justin Barron got $234,000 guaranteed from the Cowboys and C.J. Dippre of the Patriots got $264,000. Those figures are more than the Rams’ entire UDFA class combined.
This says two things: Undrafted rookies were probably willing to sign with the Rams for less than other teams offered, and Los Angeles didn’t want to sink too much capital into this year’s undrafted free agents.
Lampkin, Dolac and Wedig are viewed as the top undrafted rookies of the Rams’ 2025 class, so they’re the guys to watch – especially considering they got the most guaranteed money. That doesn’t mean the players at the bottom of the list can’t make the team, but they might have more of an uphill climb.
