NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) — The Tennessee Titans may be on summer break with no team activities happening right now, but some fans in Brentwood still got a chance to see one of the team’s newest players.
First-round pick Carnell Tate held a meet-and-greet at Kroger, where fans gathered to meet him, take pictures and get autographs. Tate spent about an hour signing and posing with fans.
The event was held in partnership with Snickers. Fans also got to try a new Snickers ice cream bar flavor, crunchy peanut butter.
Tate said he helped Snickers create the flavor and has been a fan of Snickers since he was a kid.
“It means a lot just to be able to interact with the community here who supports the team and who supports me,” Tate said. “It was a little different, stay away from the traditional Snickers bar, so why not go crunchy peanut butter.”
Adam Lackey, a Titans fan who attended, said he came after seeing the event online.
“I just feel like he might be a once-in-a-lifetime Titan,” Lackey said. “I saw this online, and I sent it to my wife, and she said we got to go, let’s do this, so it worked out well.”
Tate said he is leaving for summer vacation. When he returns, he said he will go straight into workouts to prepare for training camp next month.
