Victor Cruz has officially found his forever teammate. The former New York Giants Super Bowl champion announced he’s engaged to DJ and producer Orange Calderon after the couple shared a series of romantic photos on Thursday, June 25, capping off a whirlwind public romance that’s played out courtside, backstage, and now with a diamond ring.
According to People, Calderon made the announcement on Instagram with a simple caption that quickly grabbed fans’ attention: “Mrs. Cruz has a nice 💍 to it.” The post featured the couple embracing as she debuted her oval-cut engagement ring. She followed it up on her Instagram Stories with another affectionate message, calling Cruz “My BFF fr.” The proposal came just hours after the pair attended the Ecuador-Germany FIFA World Cup match at MetLife Stadium, where both documented the outing for followers.
While Cruz has been retired from football for years, he’ll forever be linked to one of the most memorable eras in New York Giants history. The undrafted wide receiver transformed himself into a franchise icon, helping deliver a Super Bowl XLVI victory over the New England Patriots while rewriting the team’s record books with 1,536 receiving yards during his breakout 2011 season.
Add in the Pro Bowl selection and his iconic salsa touchdown celebration, and Cruz became a New York sports celebrity.
His relationship with Calderon has steadily grown in the public eye since the two were first spotted together in 2024. From the Beckham premiere celebration to Coachella, the U.S. Open, luxury vacations, and courtside appearances during the Knicks’ Finals run, the pair have become regular fixtures on each other’s social media.
The engagement also represents a striking new chapter after years in which Cruz’s personal life often generated as many headlines as his football career. Before dating Calderon, he spent more than three years with actress Karrueche Tran, with whom he split in 2021.
Years earlier, his relationship with former fiancée Elaina Watley imploded after one of sports’ most infamous cheating scandals. In 2015, Watley exposed Cruz’s alleged infidelity by sending a group text to multiple women, writing, “I figured since you all know about me, then I should introduce each one of you to each other.”
Cruz didn’t publicly address the incident until a 2017 appearance on The Breakfast Club, where he admitted the fallout was brutal but definitive. “They all got curved after that,” he said.
