The New York Giants are entering their fourth season under the current regime of general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll. After having surprising success in Year 1 under Daboll and Schoen, the Giants have regressed in Years 2 and 3.
Two years ago, Schoen went to the trade market at the beginning of free agency to acquire tight end Darren Waller. After then acquiring Brian Burns last offseason, it’s clear Schoen is not shy about exploring trades to improve the roster.

CBS Sports recently released the most likely landing spots for former first-round pick Kyle Pitts, who would be an interesting fit on the Giants roster.

Are the Giants in a position to pay for immediate help? They may be short on salary cap space, but Pitts’ appeal, at age 24, is that he could also stick around for the long term. Head coach Brian Daboll would surely be OK pairing the big man with Malik Nabers, giving Russell Wilson an added safety valve for an offense sorely lacking secondary playmakers over the last few years. Assuming this link-up would extend beyond 2025, Pitts’ arrival would also bode well for Jaxson Dart, the presumptive quarterback of the future.
The Dallas Cowboys and Jacksonville Jaguars were also listed as potential fits for Pitts.
The Jaguars moved on from former Giants tight end Evan Engram in the offseason. Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys just added George Pickens in a trade so it may be a little more unlikely that Dallas would be willing to sacrifice draft capital in a trade for Pitts.
Pitts has been a massive disappointment for the Falcons since being selected fourth overall in the 2021 NFL draft and likely would not cost a ton of draft capital in a trade. On the other hand, Pitts would come in and likely easily compete for the No. 1 spot at the tight end position on the Giants’ depth chart.

Last offseason, the Giants let Saquon Barkley depart in free agency and replaced him with rookie sensation Malik Nabers for the offense to run through. With Russell Wilson coming in to be the team’s new starter, at least for the start of the season, another weapon to throw to would be a big get for the Giants offense.
Pitts, who is 24 years old, has a nearly $11 million cap hit for the upcoming season before becoming an unrestricted free agent next offseason. He has been on an offense with Bijan Robinson and Drake London over the last few years and although he has not broken out, playing alongside Malik Nabers could be the way to fix the Florida product.
