James Pearce Jr., the Atlanta Falcons pass rusher who faced three felony charges stemming from a February 2026 domestic dispute involving his former girlfriend, Rickea Jackson, appears likely to have those charges dismissed if he successfully completes a year-long pretrial diversion program. He entered the expedited program in April and received final approval in May, 2026.
Pearce, 22, was arrested near Miami on February 7, 2026, following the incident with Jackson. He was charged with three felony offenses, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, fleeing and eluding police, and resisting an officer with violence, along with a misdemeanor stalking charge.
On April 23, one of Pearce’s attorneys, Jacob Nunez, said Pearce agreed to enter a pretrial intervention program, which would allow him to resolve the felony charges, news agency AP reported. Nunez said if Pearce completes a six-month diversion program without violation, the state of Florida will dismiss all charges.
