The Atlanta Falcons officially signed tight end Kyle Pitts a new three-year contract worth up to $54 million, the team announced on Monday afternoon. The deal, which includes $36 million in guaranteed money, will keep Pitts in Atlanta for the next three seasons.
The Falcons initially signed Pitts to the franchise tag, but his new contract gives the team more clarity going forward. Pitts will average $18 million per season, which makes him the third-highest paid tight end in the NFL. Only San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle and Trey McBride of the Arizona Cardinals will make more per season.
Since being selected with the fourth overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, Pitts has recorded 284 catches, 3,579 yards and 15 touchdowns. After a 1,000-yard rookie campaign, Pitts struggled to duplicate that production over his next few seasons.
