LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) — Six former Nebraska football players will be inducted into the Nebraska Football Hall of Fame this fall as part of the 2026 class.
The inductees are Charles Fryar, Jim Scott, Cory Schlesinger, Cory Ross, Lavonte David and Sam Foltz.
Fryar played cornerback for the Huskers in the late 1980s. Scott was a starting center for Nebraska in the early 1990s.
Schlesinger helped Nebraska win a national title in 1995 and went on to play for the Detroit Lions. Ross played for the Huskers in the early 2000s and was named offensive MVP two years in a row.
David played 14 seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after his time at Nebraska. Foltz was killed in a car accident in 2016 before his senior season with Nebraska.
The Hall of Fame class induction ceremony will be Friday, Sept. 4 with special recognition the following day at Nebraska’s season opener against Ohio.
Frank Solich will receive the Hall’s Legends Award. Solich was an integral part of Nebraska Football’s success for parts of five decades and has been inducted into the Hall of Fame as both a player and as a coach.
Kent Pavelka will receive the Lyell Bremser Special Merit Award.
