1 hour agoTaylor Swift, Travis Kelce’s wild wedding weekend could include unusually long ‘cocktail hour’
As Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce get set to tie the knot at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Friday, July 3, a hot topic of debate is the celebrity couple’s plans for a cocktail hour ahead of their ceremony — an event that could far surpass the traditional hour and instead go as long as 2.5 hours, according to multiple reports about the weekend events.
“Yes, cocktail hours traditionally last one hour,” said Florida-based etiquette expert Jacqueline Whitmore in response to reports about the unusual length of the pre-wedding event as part of a whirlwind day that could last into the late hours of Friday evening.
“This gives the newly married couple time to take pictures, and it gives the guests time to socialize and relax.”
Whitmore also said that, in her view, “it’s perfectly acceptable for the cocktail hour to run longer, as long as enough food and beverages are provided. Otherwise, the guests will most likely get cranky.”
Swift and Kelce will reportedly say “I do” at MSG in front of 1,000 of their closest friends and family on Friday.
