This team has always played its best with its back against the wall. From the midway point in the regular season needing to work to just make the Big Ten Tournament, to the Big ten Tournament itself. Well once again, there is zero room for error. And once again, we look across the diamond and see Holy Cross, just like 2017.
They held back Patriot League Pitcher of the Year Jaden Wywoda from starting against UNC yesterday. (Though their 2 pitchers are pretty equal, so holding back might be too strong a term.) Holy Cross does have one upset of a power 4 team on their resume, an opening weekend win over (NCAA overall 4 seed) Auburn, 4-2.
