With the 2025 NFL Combine upon us, let’s take a look ahead to April and what picks the Indianapolis Colts currently hold.

As of now, the Colts have seven picks in the 2025 NFL draft–one in each of the seven rounds. What we know right now is that in the first round, Indianapolis holds the 14th overall selection.

The full draft order–specifically when the Colts are picking beyond the first round–will officially be determined once the NFL disperses the compensatory draft picks. According to Over the Cap, the Colts are not projected to receive any compensatory selections, so they will continue to have just seven selections.

When it comes to the big positions of need for the Colts to address, tight end, safety, and cornerback are at the top of the to-do list for most. However, we could see the interior offensive line enter that conversation if Will Fries ends up playing elsewhere in 2025.

Linebacker and quarterback are two positions where competition for the starting job could be needed. With EJ Speed heading to free agency, the starting role next to Zaire Franklin is up for grabs, and ideally, the Colts will find a greater coverage presence at that position. At quarterback, we don’t know if the Colts will explore adding competition for Richardson in the draft, but for now, that is a need that must be filled.

The last tier for the Colts in terms of their level of need is the ‘depth’ category. The positions here include running back, defensive tackle, offensive tackle, and perhaps defensive end, depending on what happens with Dayo Odeyingbo in free agency and if Samson Ebukam returns.

When it comes to the Colts’ first-round selection, obviously, what they do all depends on how the board falls, but I do believe that trading back is very much in play.
