The retired NFL player, 36, expressed his frustration over not receiving one of the coveted invitations to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s splashy wedding on Friday, July 3 at Madison Square Garden while in conversation with Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy.
“I’m going to be honest, I didn’t think nothing of it,” Compton said on Wake Up Barstool of not receiving an invite to the star-studded event in New York City, despite his simultaneous travels to Italy for Fourth of July weekend.

Compton was shocked he didn’t get an invite given his nine years in the NFL alongside Kelce. Compton played for Washington (2013–2017, 2020), the Titans (2018, 2020) and the Raiders (2019, 2021) before he retired in 2023.
“All of these photos I keep seeing. I see [Fox Sports rules analyst] Dean Blandino got an invitation? Is that real?” the NFL vet told Portnoy, who further emphasized that Compton is a big “Tight End U guy,” in reference to the annual three-day summer training camp founded in 2021 by Kelce, George Kittle and Greg Olsen.
While pictures from inside the event have not yet been released given the no-phone policy, many of the invitees shared photos of their wedding looks on social media prior to attending the exclusive, high-security venue.
“As I’ve been seeing the photos of everybody else at that wedding, I’m kind of flabbergasted I didn’t get that invite,” Compton told Portnoy, who called the situation “stunning.”

Compton now co-hosts the Bussin’ With the Boys podcast with Taylor Lewan, a program Kelce has been a guest on several times. Recently, the show taped during the sixth installment of Tight End University in Nashville, where Swift performed for a second consecutive year.
Swift and Kelce, both 36, said “I do” on July 3 at Madison Square Garden in N.Y.C. For the milestone occasion, the newlyweds had various spaces of the iconic arena transformed.
“It looked like a forest,” an insider told PEOPLE exclusively of the decor, which included ferns and trees, with the arena seats covered in white.
During the ceremony, “Taylor walked down the aisle to a stage where they said ‘I do,’” said the source, who added, “their vows were about 20 minutes each,” and Swift and Kelce read them from gold books.

The pair also provided invitees with embroidered handkerchiefs for any emotional moments throughout the night.
“After the ceremony, Taylor’s mom invited everyone into the reception room where a stage was set up,” adds the source, who says Paul McCartney performed The Beatles’ beloved hit “I Want to Hold Your Hand”; Stevie Nicks was also on the lineup of A-list performers.
At the reception, guests noshed on bites from food stations with Italian cuisine, sushi and passed trays, and “there were bars everywhere,” said the source, who adds that despite the size of the venue, “It was very crowded!”
Reps for Swift and Kelce have not responded to requests for comment.
