A former Carolina Panthers defender is reportedly set to join the NFC East.
According to ESPN senior NFL insider Adam Schefter, cornerback Rasul Douglas will be signing a one-year deal with the Washington Commanders. The 31-year-old veteran spent the 2020 season in Carolina, where he made 11 starts in 14 games.
Washington will account for Douglas’ ninth different stop over his soon-to-be 10-year NFL career. Along with the Panthers—and now the Commanders—the 2017 third-round overall selection has picked up stints for the Philadelphia Eagles, Las Vegas Raiders, Houston Texans, Arizona Cardinals, Green Bay Packers, Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins.
His 2020 campaign in Charlotte saw him post 62 combined tackles (one for a loss) and nine passes defensed.
Douglas was linked back to the Panthers, at least by one analyst, earlier this offseason as a potential backup to starters Jaycee Horn and Mike Jackson.
