The New York Giants have claimed defensive lineman C.J. Ravenell off waivers from the Tennessee Titans.

In a corresponding move, cornerback Rico Payton has been waived/injured.

Ravenell signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent in 2024 and spent the entire season on their practice squad.

After being waived, the 6-foot-5, 300-pound lineman was claimed by Tennessee, where he played in 14 games with one start last year under defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson. He finished the season with six tackles (one solo) and one forced fumble.

Ravenell appeared in 43 games during his six seasons at Missouri Western State. He totaled 164 tackles, including 38 tackles for loss, 14.5 sacks, five forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, one pass defensed and one blocked kick.

He picked up All-MIAA honors in four of his seasons (2019, 2021-23).

Payton played in nine games for the Giants last season and totaled 12 tackles (five solo) while primarily playing on special teams.
