LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Randi Mahomes, mother of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and former Texas Tech Red Raider Patrick Mahomes, was in Lubbock on Tuesday hosting an event for area mothers and their children.
Randi spoke at The Ultimate Sports Parents Experience, where she shared what she learned as her son moved from Texas Tech to the NFL and how sports helped shape him as a person.
Patrick Mahomes has won three Super Bowls in five attempts with Kansas City during his NFL career.
Randi said she is proud of the man, player, and father her son has become. She is also keeping an eye on him to make sure he eventually graduates from Texas Tech University.
The visit also revealed that the Mahomes family’s connection to Texas Tech runs deeper than Patrick’s time as a Red Raider — Randi said the family’s ties to the university stretch back approximately 100 years.
