THE NEW HEAD COACH, ERIC MORRIS BRYAN KEATING, HAS MORE ON WHAT EXACTLY COACH MORRIS IS BRINGING TO THE COWBOY PROGRAM. I LOVE WINNING, AND I LOVE COMPETING AND, WELL, THAT’S MUSIC TO THE EARS FOR OSU FANS EVERYWHERE. AS BRAND NEW HEAD COACH ERIC MORRIS BEGINS HIS FIRST SEASON WITH THE COWBOYS AND INHERITS A PROGRAM THAT’S WON FOUR OF THEIR LAST 24 FOOTBALL GAMES. TO BE ABLE TO TAKE OVER A PROGRAM THAT’S HAD A HISTORY OF A TON OF SUCCESS THE LAST 20 YEARS, SUPER EXCITED FOR, YOU KNOW, I’VE BEEN IN THE BIG 12 AS A PLAYER AND A COACH, AND OKLAHOMA STATE WAS SO GOOD IN MY MEMORIES. YOU KNOW, I REMEMBER GOING TO BOONE PICKENS HOW ROWDY IT WAS. I’M THE PADDLES, YOU KNOW, SLAPPING AGAINST THE WALL, THE STUDENT SECTION ON FIRE. THE COWBOYS WERE PICKED NINTH IN THE BIG 12 PRESEASON POLL AFTER FINISHING LAST IN THE LEAGUE THE LAST TWO SEASONS, AND THE COWBOYS HAVEN’T WON A CONFERENCE GAME SINCE 2023. THEY’VE LOST 18 STRAIGHT IN THE BIG 12. I SIT BACK AND REALIZE THAT THERE HAVE BEEN KIDS THAT THAT ARE IN THIS PROGRAM THAT HAVE BEEN THERE FOR TWO YEARS, THAT HADN’T EXPERIENCE WALKING IN THAT LOCKER ROOM AFTER WINNING A CONFERENCE GAME, THAT WAS SOMETHING REALLY UNIQUE FOR ME BECAUSE MY MEMORIES WERE GREAT. AND THEN I HAD TO REALIZE A BUNCH OF OUR PLAYERS MEMORIES HAVEN’T BEEN GREAT IN THE RECENT PAST. SO ERIC MORRIS SAYS THE COWBOYS NEEDED A HARD RESET AND GOT ONE WITH 87 NEW PLAYERS, AND 19 OF THOSE 87 CAME WITH HIM. TEXAS, WHICH HAS HELPED HIM SHAPE THE CULTURE IN STILLWATER. AND THE FIRST THING I DID WHEN I ADDRESSED THE TEAM, I MADE EVERYBODY STAND UP, MOVE AND GO SIT BY SOMEBODY THEY DIDN’T KNOW. Oklahoma State University football is undergoing a hard reset under new head coach Eric Morris, who is leading the Cowboys after two difficult seasons in the Big 12. Morris begins his first season with the Cowboys, inheriting a program that has won just four of its last 24 football games. The team was picked ninth in the Big 12 preseason media poll after finishing last in the league for the past two seasons. The Cowboys have not won a conference game since 2023 and are currently on an 18-game losing streak in Big 12 play. Morris said the Cowboys needed a hard reset.The team has brought in 87 new players, including 19 transfers from North Texas, where Morris previously coached.
