Had this convo with someone earlier who was surprised by my take so I’m just gonna say it:
I am fully out on ketchup. I don’t like it. It’s too sweet. It doesn’t add anything for me.
I suspect it started with my kids, who want ketchup at most meals, and ends with me later cleaning crusty ketchup off the table or plates.
I began to notice myself steering towards anti-ketchup a few years ago when I started getting mustard only on my burgers. It just tastes better without ketchup.
Longer than that I’ve done mustard only on hot dogs and brats, which isn’t controversial and in fact fairly normal, I am told.
The truth set in when I realized I don’t even use ketchup with fries. It just tastes better without it.
Curious if anyone else has turned anti-ketchup as they’ve gotten older or if I am unique here. It’s one of the top, maybe the top condiment in America but I am out on all things ketchup.
Thank you for letting me vent.
