The Arizona Cardinals have an improved running back room, but they do not as of yet have any of the very best running backs in the NFL. ESPN put together a survey of more than 70 executives, coaches and scouts to vote for the best players at different positions. At running back, none of the Arizona Cardinals running backs is in the top 10 or receives honorable mention.
The Cardinals have rookie Jeremiyah Love, drafted third overall this year, and he should make this list in future years, but he hasn’t shown anything yet that would rank him among the top backs in the league.
They also signed Tyler Allgeier in the offseason, who is a solid complementary back capable of carrying the load. They bring back James Conner as well, who had consecutive 1,000-yard seasons in 2023 and 2024.
No. 1 on this year’s list is Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson, who is what Cardinals fans should hope Love becomes.
Can Love make the cut in a year from now? That would make his draft status worth it.
