Cade Mays: Everything goes through the center; we all saw how vital Frank Ragnow was to the Lions’ offense — his pass protection, run blocking, and leadership.
2. Isiah Pacheco: I believe Gibbs can handle the workload and snaps, but he’s more of an offensive weapon. Having an RB2 with breakaway speed will allow him to showcase all of Jahmyr’s versatility.
3. Roger McCreary: I have said since last season that adopting a more nickel-heavy approach will enhance every aspect of the Lions’ defense. He is an upgrade over Amik Robertson and will play a key role in slot nickel packages. Then, combine the nickel schemes with Branch at the big nickel position once he returns.
4. Keith Abney: His snaps and development progress faster with Terrion Arnold’s departure. He will compete for both slot and outside snaps as the season unfolds and might start in the playoffs.
Honorable Mention: Sam LaPorta: If they get the old LaPorta, this offense shifts from great to elite. It opens up all the routes for the wide receivers and enhances blocking for the running game.
