Los Angeles Chargers offensive tackle Joe Alt is coming off a season that was mostly defined by injury.
Alt only played in six games for the Chargers last season, but he is still viewed as one of the league’s top players despite only having 22 NFL contests under his belt. Pro Football Network ranked the top 100 players in the league and Alt clocked in at No. 92.
“Despite only playing in six games in 2025, Joe Alt made his first Pro Bowl appearance in just his second year in the NFL. Though you could argue about the validation of such a nod given his availability issues caused by injury, there’s no denying that Alt is a Pro Bowl-level player when he’s on the field,” PFN contributor Jacob Infante wrote.
“Alt allowed just one sack in the six games he played last year, and he climbed from No. 21 to No. 12 among offensive tackles in PFN OL Impact Scoring. After excelling at right tackle in 2024, he seamlessly made the switch over to left tackle in 2025 with Rashawn Slater’s injury. That speaks volumes about his versatility and just how good of a player he is overall.”
Alts is expected to go back to right tackle this season with Slater healthy and ready to go. The Chargers built their offense around Alt and Slater to protect Justin Herbert. Having both of them back in the mix should make Los Angeles’ offense much better than it was last season.
If Alt can play at the level many expect him to over the course of a full season, he should be viewed even higher on this list a year from now.
