GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – Former Florida quarterback Will Grier is calling it a career.
The 31-year-old announced his retirement from the NFL.
Many Gator fans remember Grier’s hot start in 2015, when he helped Florida open 6-0, including a win over then-No. 3 Ole Miss at The Swamp. Grier was later suspended for performance-enhancing drugs and did not play another game for Florida.
He transferred to West Virginia and was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the third round. Grier started two NFL games and also spent time with the Dallas Cowboys, Cincinnati Bengals, New England Patriots, Los Angeles Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles. He also turned down a coaching offer to take one last shot at playing.
