KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes isn’t involved in the new season of Netflix’s behind-the-scenes docuseries ‘Quarterback.’ However, the Chiefs star’s play in one game last season led to one standout moment of the show.
This year’s Season 3 of ‘Quarterback,’ features a new quartet of quarterbacks, including Baker Mayfield, Joe Flacco, Cam Ward and Jayden Daniels.
In one episode of the show — which released on July 14 — Daniels is amazed by Mahomes’ play at the position the two share. The Washington Commanders’ young star quarterback was sidelined for his Week 8 matchup with the Chiefs.
That left Daniels like many in Chiefs Kingdom, watching from the sidelines as Mahomes’ magic resulted in a 299-yard, 3-touchdown performance and a 28-7 win over the Commanders.
“Let me go watch Mr. Mahomes throw the football,” Daniels says to a teammate during the show. “I got to see this s— in person myself.”
After one play, Daniels reveled in Mahomes working outside of the structure of the play.
“How do you find that?” Daniels asked. “He just made up some s—.”
Daniels, who was named 2024 AP Offensive Rookie of the Year before an injury-filled 2025 led to struggles, also acknowledged how badly he wanted to be playing in the game against the three-time Super Bowl MVP.
“I appreciate just great QB play,” Daniels said during an interview for the show. “It’s an art. No glaze, like Patrick Mahomes is good at football.”
“Oh, bro, I’m glazing,” Daniels said of Mahomes’ skill to a teammate. “He good, bro.”
Mahomes was featured during Season 1 of ‘Quarterback,’ which followed him throughout the 2022 season, ending in a Super Bowl 57 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. You can watch the Daniels clip here and watch the full show on Netflix.
