Yuma County has been added to Arizona’s growing list of cyclosporiasis cases, with three confirmed infections. Health officials say two of those cases are travel-related, while the source of the third remains under investigation. The parasite has been linked to severe diarrhea and can take days or even weeks for symptoms to appear. Investigators have tied a multistate outbreak to shredded iceberg lettuce sold to some Taco Bell locations. Taylor Farms says the contaminated lettuce came from central Mexico, and its Arizona locations have not been linked to the outbreak.
